Frequently Asked Questions
1
What is a health and wellness coach?
A health and wellness coach is a trained guide who partners with you to clarify your goals, build sustainable habits, and support your overall well-being (spirit, mind, and body). Unlike a therapist or doctor, a coach focuses on where you're going, not just where you've been, helping you take intentional steps toward the life you were created to live.
2
What can I expect from a coaching session?
Every session is a safe, judgment-free space created just for you. WELLThy AF will meet you where you are (spiritually, emotionally, and practically) to help you gain clarity, work through what's holding you back, and take intentional steps toward your purpose. You won't be lectured or told what to do. Instead, you'll be guided, supported, and reminded of the power you already carry.
3
Do I need to have a specific goal to start coaching?
No, and you're not alone if you feel that way. Many women arrive knowing they want something different but struggle to name exactly what that is. That uncertainty isn't a barrier to coaching; it's often where the most meaningful work begins. WELLThy AF will help you uncover what matters most and build from there.
4
What makes WELLThy AF different from other wellness coaching services?
Most wellness spaces were not built with Black women and women of color in mind. WELLThy AF was founded by Dorsia Moser, a first-generation Black woman of Jamaican descent, this space was created from personal experience and a calling to show up for women who have too often been overlooked in holistic health. You'll find coaching that is culturally rooted, faith-centered, and completely personalized to your journey.
5
What does "faith-based coaching" mean? Do I have to be religious?
Faith-based coaching simply means that spiritual well-being is recognized as an important part of your overall health. At WELLThy AF, faith is woven into the coaching experience as a source of strength, purpose, and grounding. While Dorsia's approach is rooted in her Christian faith, you don't have to share the same beliefs to benefit from coaching here. What matters most is that you come open, ready, and willing to do the work.
6
How do I know which service is right for me?

Together, you'll explore where you are in your journey and find the experience that aligns best with your goals, lifestyle, and season of life.

10
Is coaching covered by insurance?
At this time, health and wellness coaching is not typically covered by insurance. That said, investing in your well-being is one of the most powerful decisions you can make for yourself. Some employers offer wellness stipends, and HSA or FSA funds may be applicable. Please check with your benefits provider to find out what's available to you.
11
What if I've tried coaching or wellness programs before and they didn't work?
You haven't failed...you just haven't found your fit yet. WELLThy AF was created specifically for women who have felt overlooked or unsupported by traditional wellness spaces. Dorsia brings a personalized, faith-centered approach that honors your whole story, including the chapters that didn't go as planned. Sometimes the right support, at the right time, makes all the difference.

I am going to therapy for stress management, anxiety, and/or depression. Are you able to work synonymous with my therapist? Is that allowed?
Absolutely! Honestly, the two go hand in hand. Therapy and coaching serve different but complementary purposes. Your therapist helps you heal; your coach helps you grow. Please note that Dorsia is a certified health and wellness coach, not a licensed therapist, and does not provide mental health treatment or diagnosis. She welcomes the opportunity to be part of your wider support system and will always work within her professional scope to ensure your coaching experience supports, never disrupts, the work you're already doing.

You are a great coach. I am interested in referring you to a friend and/or family member that can benefit from your coaching services. Is there a referral fee or discount?
Referrals are the heartbeat of this community. Thank you for trusting WELLThy AF with the people you love! We do offer referral incentives as a way of saying thank you for helping us grow. Reach out directly and we'll take care of you.
